Day Shift floor person Darcey Borden took some time to pose with three Borgata regulars, who all happen to have ‘closed’ previous Borgata series with a win in the final trophy event!
Mike McGuinness won the final event of the December 2016 Bar Poker Open. Andrew Klein won this event last Spring, closing out the 2016 Spring Poker Open, and Ilya Vasserman won this event back in 2015, closing out that year’s Spring Open.
All three of these ‘closers’ are in action today, battling to see who can close out this series with a win.
Already in this Open, Mike McGuinness came close to a win. In event 19, he took 2nd place in a 14-way adjusted payout deal, just losing out on the win by a coin-flip. Literallly. He and another player were the two big stacks and agreed to take the same amount of money, then flip a coin for the trophy. Mike came out on the wrong side of that flip.
Andrew Klein cashed in the massive Kick-Off event, finishing 79th out of 2,969 entrants. Ilya Vasserman has also already recorded a cash during this series. In the Event 5 $500 Survivor, he earned a partial payout of $3,640.
So all three of these guys are on the board for this series, but who will finish strong? Stay tuned, because it is going to be a long night.
