Another player trending towards the top of the leaderboard as this field returns from it’s final break is the uber-competitive Andrew Klein. The two-time Borgata Poker Open champion has amassed nearly $250,000 in career earnings and a decent majority of those winnings are up for grabs in Klein’s most recent challenge to his peers, both in and out of the poker world.
Over the last few years, Klein has had his lifetime earnings on the table against any other ranked poker player in a series of skill-based tests of athleticism but with no one taking him up on the bet, Klein is getting restless. Now, heading into 2016, he’s upping the stakes and the scope of his wager.
Klein is now taking on all comers, from the poker world and behind, from celebrities to professional athletes. He’s offering a $100,000 wager in a variety of sports, along with a $10,000 donation to charity from both parties. Klein even admits that he might not have the edge this time around, saying, “Not sure I’ll be the favorite in this one but what the hell? Can’t get a Wikipedia entry without any guts.”
Challenge aside, if Klein is able to continue to build in this Day 1B flight, he’ll be a favorite heading into Day 2, where he goes to add to his lengthy competitive resume with a deep run in this $150,000 GTD event.
