At the end of level 13 in the Poker Room, “No Fear” Ofir opened to an innocuous 4,000. Two seats down, Danko Campese chose an interesting size for his three bet: about 75,000 and all-in.
However the problem wasn’t for Ofir, but for Steven Lerner who now appeared in agony.
Despite multiple players still to act, including Ofir, Steven wondered aloud at why the raise was so much. Danko and blank talked briefly, and jettisoned the hand. More hijinks, however, as Ofir tossed in one chip to call, yet seat 5 still hadn’t acted.
That was quickly settled, with seat 5 folding and the call naturally standing. Lerner didn’t seem to care at all that Ofir, who was shorter, had , because Danko turned over .
Lerner had painfully released . He leapt up from the table at the missed opportunity, upset. He took some consolation, as the side pot would not have been much bigger than the main. Queens held, and Ofir went form short to over 70,000.
In the next hand, now down to 30,000, Campese open limped from early. Lerner attacked to 6500, and the action table responded with multiple flats behind. Now Danko saw a spot, and shoved all-in over the isolation raise. Now composed, Lerner didn’t take much time after the count to call. The rest folded.
Lerner flipped up , and Campese took his time to show, as he was on a move for his tournament life with .
“Look at all that money out there,” he explained. Danko hit a three, but is out on the clean, king-high board.
With that, Lerner is a big stack nearing 200,000. The remaining tables in the Poker Room then break, and we move to the Signature Room.
