Level 10: Blinds 1000/2000/2000 BB Ante
On Pahuja’s table 26, big holding are creating big pots.
In one level 9 hand, Bart Koterba opened from EP, and was three bet by Kutay Kalkan. Barrels went in on a diamond runout, but Bart, being out of position, couldn’t turn his into a bluff, and Kutay checked back for a chop, with both players holding ace-king.
… but seem to have a combination of relief and disappointment when they check down TPTK on the river for a chop.
In the next hand it was Koterba who got to put in a very large three bet, from 3800 to 13,800, which folded out the table to the BB, John Pannucci, which now made the flat. The preflop raiser gave up facing the sizing and the curious call from the BB, which could be inducing action.
Meanwhile, several players complained they could see at least one of Kutay’s cards when he folded pre, in this case claiming a spade was visible.
On a fairly dry flop of , Koterba went for the throat, putting in about 70,000 into the 30,000 pot. Pannucci snapped, and they flipped up the hands: (no spade) for Bart, for John. Despite the possiblity of a dead spade, Pannucci was clearly looking for spots to grow a big stack. He was not disappointed, as the turn brought him the flush right away.
Then, more big hand action. Kutay raised Bart’s limp, picked up a caller, and a field player ripped in 70,000. Bart folded, and with some deliberation, only Kutay called.
Kutay’s had the shorter stack’s crushed, and Kalkan now has 400,000 – looking good for a deep run.
However, Vinnie’s latest bullet does not work out, and he is once again gone.
