Chip leader Mike Haberman opened to 65,000, picking up Joe Musngi, Thomas Paxton, and David Semless.
The flop came a very wet . To everyone’s surprise, Semless, being in the small, simply open-ripped 900,000 into the 330,000.
Haberman, the preflop raiser, was now in a giant pickle holding . With Musngi short behind, his problem was what Paxton might have called with on the button. He decided on a conservative fold, as unlikely as the nuts or set would be.
Turned out to be a pretty sweet decision. Paxton had slowplayed , made the call, and felted Semless, taking all 30 precious blinds in one hand.
Semless takes 13th for $1,079, and Paxton takes the chip lead with over 2,300,000.
