Heads up between Jose Cayetano and Frank Marasco begin with Jose holding an 11,400,000 to 3,900,000 advantage.

Over the end of 32 and the very beginning of 33, Frank was able to close the gap to nearly even.

However, a key pot happened when, falling behind again, Frank was forced to fold to a 2 million river bet in position after he surrendered the betting lead to Jose. Frank took a lot of time, thinking for over three minutes before folding on 4c] – an “interesting” hand as, Frank himself said.

Next, disaster. Frank calls a min check raise then snap folds the turn. Another significant pot to Cayetano, and there are back to the original ratios.

Hanging on with 2.7 million, the two joked about Jose’s big move with that changed the final table.

Marasco managed to double barrel a flush card against Jose, using the exact same sizing he had against Rivkin.

Howver, he then paid off a great value bet from Cayetano, 500,000 for second pair no kicker, putting pressure on his now 15 bbs.

Merely timely or not, Cayetano then found a three bet pre from the big, further eroding Frank to 2.1 of the 15,000,000 chips.

A few hands later, after exchanging preflop pressure from Cayetano, Frank is at 2 million.

With ten blinds, he now goes with , while Cayetano, always thinking his decisions through, paused before calling off with . As he had done for most of the final table, his patience was rewarded – he hit top pair, and the tournament was his.

Rivkin’s revenge has hit a wall. He bravely went with his hand facing an unnecessarily large, polarizing bet on the turn which convinced him Cayetano had likely picked up a draw on as the PFR.

Jason hemmed and hawed, then ripped in his remaining 2 million, to which Cayetano happily dropped in a chip, holding – he did have a draw but didn’t need it, needing Jason to not hit another jack or ten.

For his effort, Jason Rivkin takes $18,150.

The clock is paused while Cayetano and Marasco discuss terms, but Marasco concludes, “I don’t like deals.”

We play on into the night.

Immediately starting to make good on his promise, he took from both Cayetano and Marasco to return 3.6 million and a chance.

Fully engaged, he made a laydown against a double barrel from Marasco that he did not want to make, when a flush card arrived on . He must have suspected his opponent of underbluffing this card, as he clearly did not want to let his hand go.

Then, right after the turn barrel, he engaged with Marasco again. Marasco snap bet the flop, and Rivkin check called, as before.

However, on the turn, Marasco now checked back, either giving up a bluff or pot controlling a showdown hand.

Rivkin clearly expected no bet on the river, because when Marasco did find a small 300,000 on the , Jason cursed and shook his head.

Jason Rivkin won’t go away.

It seemed to make no sense to Jason, who talked to himself. However, he disbelieved the line, and made the call, splashing in a few chips. His bare six was good against a pure airball from Marasco.

However, nothing is easy. Rivkin open called a three bet from Marasco, who put in an equally puzzling overbet shove. This time Rivkin, seeming to know where his edges lay, let go after plenty of thought.

Jose Cayetano turned a blocker into a very aggressive 4 bet shove at the wrong time. Jason Rivkin had the goods, two queens.

325,000 from Jose, 840,000 from Jason, and then Cayetano pushed in 4.8 million, flipping over when called.

What a spot for Rivkin. Cayetano had been so careful all day, even tanking with strong hands. However, the dealer dropped a cruel on the flop, and it didn’t get better for Jason.

Yes, that just happened.

Rivkin, whose stack had never been big until the encounter with Tully, had finally been in a commanding spot, but now dropped far behind to 1.5m.

Meanwhile, the long dominant Cayetano now had his biggest stack yet, 9.3 million, with Marasco a distant second at 4.6.

While Rivkin’s rail offered some choice words on the hand, Rivkin stood up to regroup, and reasserted that this tournament, despite the beat, was his.

With the least to lose as the shortest stack Jason Rivkin is making the most of his stack. Twice in two orbits he gets shoves through, the first SB vs BB against Tully.

Then, from EP, he draws a tank fold from a frustrated Wey in the big blind.

Then, having accumulated enough blinds to play some very compressed poker, he min raises the button. However, Marasco responds, shoving over Jason.

Marasco shoves over the min raise.

With a little more than ten blinds now, Rivkin was in a pickle. It clearly wasn’t a pure steal, as he took a minute with it.

However, Jason released the blinds he had earned with shoves to Frank.

Returning from a short break, the action was busy. Wey took a hit, Rivkin doubled, and Cayetano added.

Soon after, Rivkin tried to sneak into a flop, limping from the small, only to have Tully shut him out with a committing raise.

Wey, now down to 900,00, gets a shove through.

Then, action. Wey again tries to push through his near ten blinds, but Rivkin wakes up with a dominating hand. However, Wey’s hits top pair, doubling through Jason’s . They swap chip stacks, and Rivkin is back in danger.

  1. Theen Wey 1.8m
  2. Jason Rivkin 1m
  3. Steve Tully 2.2m
  4. Frank Marasco 4m
  5. Jose Cayetano 6.3m

In a preflop battle, Steve Tully ended up ripping in all 1.9m of his stack into the chipleader Cayetano. Jose took his time, confirming the count, and then finally called.

Tully flipped over a blocker, , and then Cayetano turned over . Tully jumped up a little in his seat, irritated at a combination of things.

However, this time Cayetano was not so lucky. Tully found one four on the flop, and confirmed his win over ace-king with another on river.

Jose reacts to seeing the four on the flop.

It’s a big jump, for Tully. The players are “passing chips” as Rivkin noted, but now Tully is a threat to Cayetano, with Tully trailing Jose by less than a million now.

Tully collects his pound of flesh.

Pressure.

Then, more adversity. Blind on blind, Marasco puts in the four bet shove, but Cayetano could not find a call. He’s tumbled back to 4 million, essentially even with Tully and Marasco.
