BorgataPoker.com has a stable of three sponsored pros and they all happen to be in action today, and two of them were randomly seated next to each other.
Michael ‘Gags’ Gagliano is the senior member of the team. He’s got one Borgata title from the 2017 Fall Poker Open SixMax and also owns a World Series of Poker bracelet won in 2016. His career earnings are approaching $ 2 million.
Katie Stone is a more recent addition and she holds three Borgata Open titles, the most recent of which came during last Fall’s Deepest Stack event.
Dan Buzgon is the most recently announced team member with more than $2.2 million in earnings, two Borgata Open titles, two WSOP Circuit rings, and three World Poker Tour final table appearances.

Flight E has overflowed the 26 tables in the Signature Room and tables 27+ are playing in the Poker Room.
A quick trip over turned up another anomaly: three Ladies seated together at the same table!
Melissa Burr, Cathy Dever, and BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro Katie Stone are sharing the felt on Table 30.
In a field with fewer than 5% women, having a table comprised of 30% women is quite unusual, and having them all seated together is an even bigger coincidence.

Tables are breaking quickly now here in the Signature Room. Players busting out have one last flight in which to fire, starting at 6pm in the Poker Room.

Our first trip of the day to survey the tables over in the Poker Room turned up a treasure trove of familiar players. This event’s defending champion Rafael Reis is there, along with BorgataPoker.com sponsored pro Dan Buzgon.

Dan Buzgon was named the newest BorgataPoker.com sponsored pro shortly before the start of the 2019 Winter Poker Open and he did a great job representing the online poker site, cashing in two events before making his deep run in the WPT BWPO Championship.
After a hiatus of about 6 weeks, the final table played out under the lights and cameras in Las Vegas at the Luxor’s new HyperX Esports Arena. This was Dan’s third WPT final table appearance and this one ended with him taking 5th place and just under $203,000. That has pushed his total career earnings up to more than $2.24 million.
Not a bad way to kick off a new sponsorship!
Dan’s luck has not run so well today, however. He’s already busted out and re-entered.
Spring begins today and you know what that means! The 2019 Borgata Spring Poker Open kicks off in a couple of weeks — now is the time to make your plans to attend. With more than $3.5 million in guarantees and 19 trophy events spread across 18 action-packed days, this series will see some huge fields. Room rates are available starting from $95 — Call 609.317.1000 now to reserve your room!
As always, the series begins with the $1 million guaranteed $540+$60 NLH Deep Stack Kickoff. It begins Tuesday April 2nd at 11am with the first of six starting flights. With unlimited re-entries, this best stack forward event will surely see more than enough entrants to crush the guarantee. Last year, Rafael Reis emerged victorious from the field of 2,370 entrants to take home $216,010 for 1st place, along with his first Borgata Poker title.
All your favorite tournaments will be returning including the Seniors ($25k GTD), Ladies, SixMax ($100k GTD), Almighty Stack ($500k GTD), two Saturday Series $100,000 GTD events, and the $150,000 GTD Black Chip Bounty. For players looking to take a break from No Limit Hold’em, there are three tournaments: Pot Limit Omaha ($20k GTD), Omaha High/Low, and HOSE ($20k GTD). Some changes this year include a $500+$60 Super Survivor with $75,000 Guarantee and another Survivor with a $100 Black Chip Bounty added. Click here for the complete schedule of main events.
Of course the highlight of the series is the $2,500 + $200 Borgata Spring Poker Open NLH Championship, which carries a $1 million guarantee on total buy-ins. One major change is that the two starting days will be Monday & Tuesday (April 15 & 16) instead of Sunday & Monday as in the past. The finale will be Live Streamed on Friday, April 19th.
Last year, Almedin ‘Ali’ Imsirovic took home the Championship trophy and $246,066* after battling his way through a field of 519 entrants. Heads-up with Farid Jattin, Ali battled for a while before opting for an adjusted payout agreement with a nearly even split of remaining prize money.
