Abe Gordon bagged the biggest stack here in our final Event 8 flight with 563,000 which is good for the overall chip lead. Eric Rivera who was down to just 15,000 late in the night is the only other Day 1B player over half a million with 511,000.

The action folded around to the player in the hijack and he raised to 8,500. John Malvasio called from the cutoff and Mohammad Khawaja called from the big blind.
They went three handed to the flop and Khawaja checked. The player in the hijack bet 12,500 and Malvasio wasted no time raising to 51,000.
Both players quickly folded and Malvasio added the pot to his massive stack of about 450,000. We are now approaching the last break of the night and it’s Malvasio out if front here in our final Event 8 flight.

Sundiata DeVore was unable to find a bag on Day 1A of Event 8 and after he was eliminated he hopped right into the second flight. DeVore doubled his stack early and he has caught fire after the break.

Michael Kong wasn’t able to build on his rise to the top, allowing Miguel Borrero to claim the flight’s biggest stack.

Borrero finishes with 539,000 – but feels a little regret at passing up on a loose call at the end that would have gave him heaps.
Kong finished with a robust 454,000. Norman Rodriguez bagged 422,000.
